Former attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali’s testimony did not bolster Najib Abdul Razak’s defence in the latter s RM42 million SRC International corruption case, the Court of Appeal heard today.
Deputy Public Prosecutor V Sithambaram submitted before the three-person bench that this was due to the SRC money trail charts relied on by Apandi to exonerate ex-premier Najib in 2016.

Najib Abdul Razak already had a personal interest in SRC International since the inception of the company, the Court of Appeal heard today.
Deputy public prosecutor V Sithambaram submitted that the former premier’s personal interest is shown by the insertion of his role as then prime minister in the memorandum of association (MOA) of SRC. The company was set up in January 2011.
The DPP contended that this is shown by Article 67.

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak gave evasive answers over the nearly RM4 billion in SRC International funds frozen in Switzerland, the Court of Appeal heard today.
Deputy public prosecutor V Sithambaram (
above) submitted before the three-person bench that the former finance minister gave this type of answer when questioned by the prosecution in relation to Najib not allowing another minister to check on the funds in Switzerland.
