Lahore, May 25 : Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah, who burst into limelight by making his Test debut at 16 two years ago, expressed regret at missing out on Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to laxity in following Covid-19 norms.
Shah, 18, was on Monday released from isolation after he breached protocols for departure from Pakistan to Abu Dhabi by arriving at the designated hotel with a non-compliant RT-PCR test result. I cannot express in words how I feel right now. I want to play cricket as it [playing cricket] is my life, Shah said in a tweet on Monday, expressing regret after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dropped him from PSL that will resume in Abu Dhabi from June 5.
The 18-year-old fast bowler reportedly had an outdated COVID-19 negative certificate with him. Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been expelled from next month’s Pakistan Super League in Abu Dhabi after breaching the tournament s COVID-19 protocols.
The Pakistan Cricket Board said the right-arm fast bowler “is now out of the competition, ” as the 18-year-old reportedly arrived at a team hotel in Lahore on Monday with an outdated negative test for COVID-19.
The PCB’s protocols require all the players traveling to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to present a negative test taken not more than 48 hours prior to arrival at the team hotel. Shah presented a report on Monday from a test that was conducted on May 18.

Karachi [Pakistan], May 25 (ANI): Quetta Gladiators fast bowler Anwar Ali has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss the flight to Abu Dhabi scheduled to depart on Wednesday for the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six games.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the Pakistan pacer had tested negative for COVID-19 before checking into a Karachi hotel, but his second test produced a positive COVID result on Tuesday.
Anwar will now be quarantined for at least 10 days and will be released from the isolation only after two negative tests.
