The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY has a new display dedicated to one of America’s comedy legends: Fozzie Bear from the “Muppet Show.”
Best known for his catchphrase “Wocka wocka wocka!”, less than perfect stand-up routines, and a close friendship with Kermit the Frog, the Muppets’ resident comedian is making his debut at the Western New York museum as part of a celebration of the original “Muppet Show” recently launching on Disney+.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. Wocka Wocka Wocka. the Muppets famous comedian is now making an appearance at the National Comedy Center in Jamestown.
The Fozzie Bear puppet will be on display at the museum for visitors to enjoy.
Fozzie was developed by Frank Oz and is well known for his stand up comedy act and as Kermit s best friend. Fozzie made his first appearance on The Muppet Show in 1976.
“It’s wonderful that The National Comedy Center, which I love, is highlighting Fozzie in the context of comedy’s heritage,” stated Frank Oz. “Fozzie is very close to my heart. The Jamestown City Council held a virtual work session on Monday, Feb. 9, 2021 and a portion of the meeting focused on the National Comedy Center as the Ward 3 voting location for the primary and general election. NCC Executive Director Journey Gunderson was also in attendance to discuss the matter and answer questions.

County Board of Elections Will Work with City Officials to Discuss Alternative Polling Site for Ward 3
JAMESTOWN – The
Chautauqua County Board of Elections says it has the final say in selecting the polling location for a group of voters in Jamestown – even if that means keeping it at the
National Comedy Center (NCC) on W. Second Street. However, the county’s two election commissioners also say they are willing to work with local leaders to find a new location if need be.
Earlier this month the board of elections reached out to Jamestown City Officials asking them to help identify possible new locations for Ward 3 voters to vote. The request came after the Board of Elections were notified by NCC that it was no longer wanted to be a polling location.
