The latest edition to The Jewelled Range is The Jewelled Horse, following on from 2020’s The Jewelled Tiger, 2019’s The Jewelled Dragon, and 2018’s The Jewelled Phoenix. Second man jailed over $3.2 million heist Posted March 02, 2021 | By Arabella Roden • Editor Daniel Ede, the second man involved in the April 2020 robbery of Collins Street gold dealer Melbourne Gold Company (MGC), has been sentenced to a maximum of five years and nine months in jail for his role in the heist. Ede, 38, was an employee of MGC and initially thought to be a victim during the robbery, in which fellow Melbourne man Karl Kachami, 48, held him at gunpoint before making off with gold bullion, jewellery, and cash valued at $3.2 million. County Court Judge David Sexton described the robbery – one of the largest in Victorian history – as a brazen, sophisticated and well-thought-out criminal endeavour targeted for maximum financial return

Nationwide Jewellers continues Apprentice Support Scheme for 2021 Posted March 02, 2021 | By Arabella Roden • Editor Australasia’s largest buying group, Nationwide Jewellers, has announced its Apprentice Support Scheme will continue for an 12th year, providing vouchers for both tools and cash to jewellery and watch apprentices in Australia and New Zealand. Under the scheme, which was first introduced in 2009, apprentices have the choice between a $500 tool voucher – subsidised by Australian Jewellers Supplies in Australia and G A Warburtons in New Zealand – or $400 in cash towards costs associated with their training. As a major player in the jewellery industry, we recognise our obligation to support and encourage young people in enhancing their skills and experiences
