Maxwell is slated to perform at the NAACP Image Awards in honor of the 25th anniversary of his debut album,
Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite.
On Thursday, Maxwell took to Instagram to share the exciting news about himself and another R&B vocalist who will also be performing at the awards show.
“So excited to perform on the 52nd @NAACPImageAwards. Much love to my sister @JazmineSullivan who is also performing,” he wrote in the caption.
Celebrating the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature, and film, the NAACP Image Awards also recognizes individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

Three-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Maxwell joined forces with luxury eyewear brand STATE Optical Co. to create a limited-edition sunglass style. The collaboration pays homage to Maxwell s first album Maxwell s Urban Hang Suite, with a new style titled REUNION.
Drawing inspiration from Maxwell s neo-soul music, REUNION s design is effortlessly elegant. The statement-making sunglasses are available in smoky blue with brown lenses and matte black with blue gradient lenses.
