WAUKESHA, WI The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department announced nightly ceremonies at 9 p.m. will take place at the Frame Park Amphitheater recognizing all of the men listed on the nationally touring, half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, “The Moving Wall.” The memorial will be in Frame Park Thursday at noon and open 24 hours each day through Memorial Day, closing at 6 a.m. on Tues., June 1.

The Moving Wall Vietnam memorial to be on display in Waukesha Memorial Day weekend WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) The Moving Wall, a half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will return to southeast Wisconsin.  The Moving Wall will be on display in Waukesha’s Frame Park, on Thursday, May 27 through Memorial Day. It will be showcased 24 hours each day and close at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1. “We are honored to host the visit of ‘The Moving Wall’ to Waukesha,” said Joanna Adamicki, special events coordinator. “It has been an amazing experience to work with so many people passionate about making this event an incredible experience for all involved. Most importantly, the Work Team, nearly 300 volunteers and City staff want to convey the utmost honor and respect for our Vietnam Veterans.”

WAUKESHA, WI A Memorial Day Parade will not be held this year in Waukesha. Pat Craney, chair of Waukesha Allied Veterans, told Patch the reason has to do with the pandemic. The Waukesha Health Department felt it was too much of a risk, this was a couple of months ago, it takes a long time to organize so they decided the risk was not for the participants but for the spectators, Craney said. He said the parade, which runs down Main Street, draws a large crowd of people on both sides of the street.
