Plan for fair and inclusive Bayside
Through the development of the health and wellbeing plan, Council is focusing on improving access and inclusion for people living with a disability in Bayside.
We have developed the draft Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021 -2025 (MPHWP) and want to ensure it connects with all ages and abilities. We need a wide range of experiences and ideas, particularly from people living with a disability or caring for someone with a disability – so please get involved and share this opportunity with your community.
How did we get to this point?
We have developed this plan following an extensive consultation process speaking with community members across all ages and abilities to understand the biggest opportunities to improve health and wellbeing and what are the barriers that need to be overcome.

A fresh and healthy change coming to Briars
The Briars is our local treasure and has long been a place for the community to visit and connect with nature, heritage and wildlife.
Now, The Briars is stepping it up another notch by working with Food for Change to provide fresh produce to Peninsula’s struggling families.
On Saturday 22 May, Food for Change will begin farming a leased area at The Briars where they will grow and distribute fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables to families across the Peninsula, with the help of volunteers and aid organisations.
As well as growing their own produce, Food for Change will connect with local growers and rescue food from local supermarkets intended for Mornington Peninsula emergency relief providers, giving our most vulnerable communities access to a greater range of healthy food.
