L.A. Fuller & Sons Construction, LTD., will continue the building of the Police Warehouse-Crime Lab Water Service Project, which is located near Municipal Drive on North Ash Avenue, starting at 8 a.m. on Feb. 4, according to a release made by the City of Lubbock.
North Ash avenue will be closed from Erskine Avenue to Municipal Drive, according to the release.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use caution and to be aware while they are driving close to the construction zone, according to the release.
This closure of streets will last one week, according to the release.
Several Christmas tree drop-off sites are being set up throughout Greater Saint John.
City spokesperson Nathalie Logan said six sites will be open throughout the city between Jan. 1 and 12.
They include the Charles Gorman Arena on University Avenue; the Peter Murray Arena on Dever Road; the Hilton Belyea area on Lowell Street; the Forest Hills Ball Field on Westmorland Road; between 30 and 38 Taylor Avenue in Crescent Valley; and at the Old Sugar Refinery site, located at the end of Charlotte Street and Vulcan Street.
“Take off all your decorations and lights and trimmings,” said Logan. “Once that’s all set, you can drive it down to your closest location and look for the designated drop-off area, it will be clearly marked in each location.”
Local car club to cruise gifts to needy kids this weekend

NorthEastRaceBeast is at it again this time, they re doing it for the kids. The local car club is collecting toys for the Toys for Tots campaign on Sunday at the Pocono Bazaar Flea Market on Municipal Drive in East Stroudsburg.
Bring your new, unwrapped, toy donations starting at 10 a.m., then join the club at 1 p.m. for a cruise to hand out the gifts in the communities that need it most. The club will be escorted by Pennsylvania State Police.
