Officials of the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), last Friday, met with public and private schools to discuss the modalities for the reopening of schools for the new academic year.
The virtual engagement was one of the many measures the authority adopted to guide and support school owners on how to successfully and safely open their schools, in the midst of the spread of the COVID-19.
Speaking at the virtual engagement, the Executive Director/Inspector-General of Schools of NaSIA, Dr Hilda Ampadu, said the Authority was committed to health and safety during the start of the new academic year.
AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine has presented essential medical items to the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Hospital for the establishment of a Breast Care Unit in the facility to help in the screening and treatment of people living with breast cancer in the municipality.
After renovating a place for the establishment of the unit, Iduapriem Mine further provided 32 essential medical items for the effective functioning of the unit, including medical examination couch (bed), weighing scale, stainless medical tray, personal protective equipment, cabinets, detergents, furniture, bedsheets with pillows, medical supplies, among others, which were procured at a cost of about One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS120,000.00).
