MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis police officer is accused of kidnapping and murdering a man while on duty.
The Memphis Police Department identified the officer as 29-year-old Patric Ferguson, who has been relieved of duty.
Memphis officer now facing murder, kidnapping charges
Records show Ferguson was arrested on Sunday.
He faces several charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated kidnapping, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with and fabricating evidence, according to MPD.

Police believe the pair maybe travelling a 2015 4-door white Hyundai Genesis with the TN license plat 6L0-0L9.

Memphis Police has issued a City Watch Alert for a missing man travelling with his infant son.
Authorities say Jerome Fields, 32-years-old and his son 3-month-old Jermonie Fields was last seen just after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, in the 3600 block of Hermitage Road.
Police say Fields is distraught and has made threats to harm himself and his son.

Jerome is said to be in emotional distress and has threatened to harm his son and possibly himself.
Both are Black males. The father was last known to be wearing a button-down blue jean shirt, blue jeans, brown workboots, and a Carhart khaki jacket. The son is wearing a blue and green onesie with âLittle Brotherâ written on the front.
Memphis Police believe he could be in danger.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Memphis Police have issued a City Watch Alert for a missing boy in the Midtown area.
Officers say 12-year-old Marvin Cunningham was last seen just before 6 p.m. Saturday with his caretaker. He was going to get a haircut in the area of Belvedere and Poplar.
Cunningham stepped outside to make a phone call and has not been seen since.
Memphis Police believe he could be in danger.
Officers describe Cunningham as a black male 5 5 and 90 pounds. He was last seen on foot in a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.
