The City of Lubbock will be moving its health and community development departments into a more central location.
The city departments will be moving to 2015 50th St. - the old Savers location between University Avenue and Avenue Q. The city intends to purchase this property, which includes the parking lots to the north and west.
On Monday morning, the city council met in an emergency meeting to create the capital improvements item in the budget, and approve a commercial contract assignment of buyer’s interest for the property. This contract says the city will perform a feasibility study prior to purchasing the property.
