During previous town halls, Asplen, along with other senior leaders from the School District, have solicited feedback from constituents and allowed citizens to raise concerns during open-microphone feedback sessions.
The district has held four town halls already, geared at specific geographic regions within the county. Wednesday’s event is more of a community-wide outreach, with the district inviting representatives from the business, philanthropic and real estate communities.
District spokesman Craig Maniglia said roughly 1,000 to 1,200 people have attended the previous events.
Community members have had the chance to sound off on a range of issues, including the district’s mask policy and how the district addresses hot-button racial and religious issues. The district also asks attendees to bring smart phone so they can answer survey questions and provide the district with real-time feedback.
