Most COVID fatalities in Baguio had no vaccine

Published July 18, 2021, 4:26 PM BAGUIO CITY – The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported 96 percent of the recent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) deaths here had not been vaccinated. CESU head Dr. Donnabel Panes said that of the 106 fatalities recorded from April 19 to July 5, only four percent or four individuals had at least one dose of the vaccine while 102 had none. “There were 34 who registered for vaccination so they were willing to get vaccinated but did not make it,” Panes said. She said the city needs to ramp up vaccination program to realize its impact and that more efforts should be exerted to have the vulnerable population, especially the senior citizens, inoculated.

Published July 11, 2021, 3:28 PM The Quezon City Government announced on Sunday that children 5-years-old and above can engage in outdoor activities at the Quezon Memorial Circle and Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife. This after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has allowed children five years old and above to go outdoors in areas under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified GCQ (MGCQ). Mayor Joy Belmonte, in a memorandum, said several city-owned parks managed by the Quezon City Parks Development and Administration Department (PDAD) and parks inside residential subdivisions are also identified as “Child-Friendly Safe Zones.”
