I Did It! I Ran The 2021 Sioux Falls Skedaddle! On Sunday morning, I accomplished something I never thought was possible for me at this point in my running career. But, somehow I managed to complete the 2021 Sioux Falls Skedaddle Half Marathon race. The feeling? Unreal. For those who aren t aware, running has always been part of my life since I joined cross country and track in grammar school. Although I never competed at the collegiate level, I never stopped running or participating in 5k and 10k races. It s a routine that has always been with me. Running is just a big part of who I am, and the Sioux Falls Skedaddle was a race that really tested my strength as a runner and as a person.

Chima’s appointment follows the recent retirement of former Public Health Director Jill Franken. “Dr. Chima brings an extensive background in clinical and population health practice to our community,” said TenHaken. “Whether it’s dealing with a community-wide issue like COVID-19 or planning strategies to ensure the residents of Sioux Falls have the ability to achieve their best health, I know that Dr. Chima will bring great energy and perspective to our City team. Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Apr 23, 2021 7:02 AM As the season for emerald ash borer (EAB) treatments nears in South Dakota, state forestry experts want applicators in the Sioux Falls area to be prepared. The City of Sioux Falls, the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (SDDANR) and South Dakota State University Extension are sponsoring a workshop for applicators to learn about where the borer is found in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties, the developmental stages of the insect and treatment options available to protect trees. “This is an opportunity for applicators to learn about and discuss the systems available for injecting trees with demonstrations by Arborjet, ArborSystem, Rainbow and Warne Chemical (Chem-jet),” says John Ball, Professor, SDSU Extension Forestry Specialist and SDDANR Forest Health Specialist.
