DENVER, June 10, 2021 The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) have announced 16 regional teams, representing 169 rural communities, as participants in the Colorado Rural Resiliency and Recovery Roadmap program.
‘It got to be pretty scary’: Witnesses describe watching Colorado tornado barrel toward them
WELD COUNTY, Colorado (KCNC) Dozens of residents in northern Colorado stared a destructive tornado in the eye as it tore its way through Weld County between Firestone and Platteville. Homes were destroyed, trailers uplifted, structures overturned and cattle killed. First responders said there were no reports of injuries or loss of life to any residents.
Moments after the tornado returned back up into the sky, residents told CBS4’s Dillon Thomas they had watched as it tore through farming communities.
“We heard it when we came outside, then the big cloud started coming down,” said Adrian Escudero Montes, a witness. “The cloud started coming down all fast, and then pure chaos.”

California’s campaign finance watchdog will be investigating former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli’s campaign spending.
The Fair Political Practices Commission wrote Foppoli this week saying its enforcement division “has commenced a commission-initiated investigation regarding your committee’s potential violations.” No conclusions have been reached but investigators informed the former Mayor that they may be contacting him to “discuss the matter.” It stems from an anonymous complaint filed in late April highlighting 10 instances of campaign spending and donations. They include a liquor bill for a 2019 Foppoli event, air travel, and payments to a former girlfriend and a campaign treasurer who works as an executive at his family’s Christopher Creek Winery.
