Orange County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 lifted their boil water notice after providing TCEQ with test results that indicate the water no longer needs to be boiled. Anyone with questions should contact (409) 769-2669.
Feb. 20, 4:45 p.m.
The Port Arthur Water Utilities has restored the quality of the water for human consumption purposes only in the areas of the City North of Hwy 73 and provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of Feb 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm.

BEAUMONT, Texas Businessman LaShon D. Proctor announced he s running for mayor of Beaumont, becoming the fifth candidate for the spot.
Proctor has been at Proctor s Mortuary for the past 20 years, according to a 12News file story. He serves as the funeral director for his family s business.
Proctor is a graduate of Westbrook High School in Beaumont, and he also served in the Navy.
Proctor is scheduled to file documents needed to run for the mayor position on Wednesday.

BEAUMONT, Texas The City of Beaumont is using its 311 call center to help residents register to get on a COVID-19 vaccine waitlist.
The city is still waiting for the next round of COVID-19 vaccines to come in. Right now, there are more than 5,000 vaccines in Jefferson County, but many of them are already spoken for.
BEAUMONT â KFDM/Fox 4 News has learned the Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas is canceled due to COVID concerns. The event, including several parades, was scheduled for February 11-14. Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames, City Manager Kyle Hayes, City Attorney Tyrone Cooper and Events Coordinator Emily Wheeler met Tuesday with Laura Childress, the President of Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, to discuss the event. They deliberated for about 30 minutes before deciding to cancel it.
The organization moved Mardi Gras from Port Arthur to Beaumont last year and said it was an overwhelming success. Childress told KFDM/Fox 4 s Paige Hubbard she understands Southeast Texans will be disappointed about this year s cancellation, but says they can look forward to a great event next year.
