Severe Weather Awareness Week Thursday Tornado Drill Day
Thursday, April 15, 2021 is Tornado Drill Day with two statewide tornado drills taking place. The State of Minnesota conducts Severe Weather Awareness Week in partnership with the National Weather Service and local governments.
The first drill takes place 1:45 p.m. allowing schools, businesses, hospitals and other organizations to practice their emergency plans.
The second drill will be 6:45 p.m. allowing families and second shift workers to practice their plans.
Remember if you don t practice your plan you don t have a plan.
Not all counties in Minnesota are participating in both drills. Rice County and the City of Faribault will be partaking in both.
