DOT to develop bike tourism in Davao

SunStar File photo THE Department of Tourism (DOT) is looking into developing bicycle tourism in Davao Region. DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said in a virtual presser that they have already laid down plans for promoting bike tourism in the country. She said the Tourism Promotions Board is also planning to promote motorbiking tourism in the future. Because it s the best way to see the country, and lalo na ngayon, health-conscious na yung mga tao (especially now that people are getting health conscious), it s also the best exercise, Romulo-Puyat said during the One Davao on Covid-19 virtual presser on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

Davao City to create 6 more bike lanes

SunStar File photo THE Davao City government is planning to create more bicycle lanes in six areas in the city. This is in addition to the 27 new and upgraded bicycle lanes, in partnership with the Department of Public works and Highways-Davao Region (DPWH-Davao). According to the plan, the Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) and DPWH-Davao will create bicycle lanes along the Carlos P. Garcia Highway (Diversion Road), Davao-Bukidnon Highway, Matina Aplaya to Ecoland Drive, C. Bangoy St., Ecowest Drive, and Tulip Drive. CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said 27 roads in the city have new and upgraded bike lanes with the broken green markings, solid green markings, solid white lines and broken white lines.
