A police officer in Oneonta shot a man who had been brandishing a knife Tuesday, after law enforcement officials responded to a domestic incident.
New York State Police are investigating the officer-involved shooting, which happened around 1:25 p.m. Troopers haven t released the identity of the person who was shot, but said he was sent to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The identity of the police officer was also not released.
State police said it happened when Oneonta police were called to a domestic incident on River Street in the City of Oneonta. When officers arrived, they encountered a man with a knife.

ONEONTA, N.Y. The City of Oneonta is now getting help with snow removal from the New York State Department of Transportation.
Thanks to a shared services agreement, the State is providing 20 pieces of equipment and the staff to help Oneonta dig out. The amount of snow has been too much for City DPW crews to keep up with, and residents like Betty Lingner and Christine Gallup are feeling the crunch too.
