AUBURN â Auburn Main Street is seeking artwork to be featured on new banners.
The organization is preparing to order new banners for downtown light poles with an opportunity for up to 30 unique banners to be hung in an art district on Sixth and Main streets.
âBanners will be hung year-round and will expand the momentum of creating an art culture in the Sixth/Main Street corridor. We are thrilled to get artists involved in this movement,â said Ann Finchum, economic vitality chair for Auburn Main Street. âThe banners will be revealed in early spring.â
Since 2017, Auburn Main Streetâs economic vitality committee has worked collaboratively to revitalize Sixth and Main Streets: first, with the revitalization of street work with the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the City of Auburn through the Main Street Revitalization Grant Program; then in 2019 and 2020 with the creation of murals through crowdfunding with Patronicity and Indiana Housing & Com

Agilitas Energy, an energy developer with a robust portfolio in northeast US, has acquired an 8.9 MW photovoltaic solar plus energy storage project in the Town of Rochester on 38 acres of land. The project is currently under construction.
Agilitas is working in lockstep with the Town of Rochester, including its Planning Board and the Conservation Committee, to sustainably construct the solar project. The project is targeting commercial operations in the 1Q2022 and will be able to power more than 1800 Massachusetts homes. The energy storage component of the project not only will increase the total power output of the array, but also can provide peak-shaving capabilities to stabilise the grid’s power supply.
Briggs & Stratton announces $9.4 million Auburn expansion, to hire 35

Briggs & Stratton today announced a $9.4 million expansion at its Auburn facility which is expected to create 35 new jobs over the next year.
Briggs & Stratton is located in the Auburn Technology Park South and remains one of the largest manufacturing employers in East Alabama.
Based in Wisconsin, Briggs & Stratton is the world’s largest producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, as well as commercial lithium-ion batteries, power generation, pressure washers, lawn and garden, turf care and job site products.
Plant manager Erick Rodriguez said the company is looking for “responsible, motivated individuals” to fill positions.
