–The Joint Commission has awarded a certificate of distinction to Twin Cities Community Hospital for advanced certification as a primary stroke center.
To achieve this distinction, Twin Cities underwent a rigorous, on-site review where reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards. The standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
“The distinction recognizes Twin Cities Community Hospital’s quality, caring, and commitment of staff and physicians,” said Mark Lisa, CEO of Tenet Health Central Coast. “During a stroke emergency, about two million brain cells die per minute and this certification signals to the community that they are in expert, caring hands at Twin Cities in their time of critical need.
