Organized by the Downtown Business Association, it attracted approximately 1,500 people. Event spokesperson Josh LeBlanc called it an “amazing” night. He praised the atmosphere, the music supplied by musical acts El Guitaro and Fog Dog, and the conduct of the crowd. “Fogdog and El Guitaro were really, really good,” LeBlanc told the Mercury. “The crowd seemed to love them. We received nothing but great reviews and compliments throughout the night on them. “Everyone was smiling and laughing and having a good time. I don’t think I’ve seen that many people hugging and high-fiving in a long time. The bar was absolutely swamped all night. People were enjoying the refreshments.”

Downtown Live brings live music back to Edmonton s core

  EDMONTON For those eager to sit at a patio while listening to live music, Downtown Live is back featuring local artists at venues across the city. The summer series presented by the Downtown Business Association will begin July 21. Puneeta McBryan, executive director of DBA, says the concerts will serve as a COVID-19 recovery measure. Performances will take place anywhere from restaurants and patios to transit stations. “I think it’s huge. Not having been able to put on actual concerts, and just the money that goes into putting on formal events is tough in the best of times. During COVID, it was pretty much impossible,” she said.

DBA to launch Ambassador Services Program

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Downtown Business Association is poised to launch its Ambassador Services Program this summer. An ordinance was introduced at this week s Assembly meeting that amends the budget to in part provide the program $15,000. DBA President Midgi Moore talked about the program while a guest on Action Line.  She said they have made the decision to bring the program in-house and hire directly rather contract with another organization to manage the program.  That way we can handle the training and the management of the ambassadors and their role literally is an ambassador. She said they ll be walking downtown with shirts that say DBA on it and wearing buttons that say Ask me.
