Downtown Burger Battle: Swamp Daddy s The Who Dat Burger

Next up, The Who Dat Burger from Swamp Daddy s Cajun Kitchen. The Who Dat Burger is described as, The Who Dat burger has a house patty blend of chuck beef, short rib and andouille sausage topped with pepper jack and American cheese layered with a homemade bourbon bacon jam, and fried onions, crisp lettuce, and tomato on a brioche bun and finished with our Mardi Gras glaze! The andouille sausage was a great addition to this burger. Added a little bit of spice and is obviously very prevalent in Cajun cooking. The only thing that didn t quite work for me was the Mardi Gras glaze, which was such a bummer because I loved the look of it. The burger was topped with what I think was colored sugar in Mardi Gras colors. It was purple, gold, and green. It looked really cool, but if you got a bite with a lot of it, it was too much.

Downtown Burger Battle: Papa Woody s The Uptowner

This year there are 24 burgers competing. Challenge accepted. I ve previously told you all about The Farmer s Breakfast Burger at Wiley s and the Sriracha Chili Bacon Cheese Burger at Phillips Avenue Diner. Both great contenders. Then there was the Burger Wellington at Bread & Circus and The Santa Fe Chimi Burger at The Holiday Inn City Centre. The last burgers we discussed was Dr. Love at Pave and Blarney Stone s The Golden Porker. The contender on the menu today is The Uptowner from Papa Woody s Wood Fired Pizza. Yes, you read that correctly. They usually do pizza, however, their offering for the Burger Battle was legit.

Downtown Burger Battle: DaDa Gastropub s BURGER #5 – ATTN: It s m

Next up is DaDa Gastropub s BURGER #5 – ATTN: It’s messy. The name could use some work. DaDa Gastropub was formerly Icon Event Hall. I must say, I liked what they did with the place. The décor was very eclectic and fun. Nothing really matches, but because it s all different, it somehow still works together. Does that make sense? My favorite was an old bowling alley chair/bench and some fun bowling pins as decoration. I love a good bowling reference. Ok, enough about the ambiance, let s get to the burger. The BURGER #5 – ATTN: It’s messy is described as, Double bacon burger, white cheddar, egg, house pickles, DaDa Sauce, swirly fries.
