There appears to be some misunderstandings to the involvement of the Hanna Roundhouse Society (HRS) in last yearâs Sept 26, 2020 Carp Fishing Derby at the Hanna CN Reservoir.
The Hanna Roundhouse Society property is adjacent to the CN Reservoir and access to the reservoir from the west cuts through the HRS property. On occasion, the HRS maintains property extending further east along the âDamâ while maintaining HRS property. In 2019, I was witness to a large number of dead Carp on the reservoir spillway, which I believe were there because of the volume of water in the reservoir from spring run-off. I was curious to the number of Carp in this body of water, and wondered if native species could survive if Carp, a non-native, invasive fish were removed.

The Cordish Cos. is scheduled to begin construction of the $140 million, 288-unit Three Light Luxury Apartments development in downtown Kansas City, Mo., in May and the Midland Lofts, a 139-unit, affordably priced adaptive reuse project, this summer.
Three Light is expected to deliver in May 2023 and the Midland Lofts renovations are slated for completion in late 2022.
The two projects will create more than 1,000 construction jobs and a sense of optimism for future of the city’s downtown Power & Light District following the pandemic, according to Nick Benjamin, executive director of the Power & Light District and managing director of multifamily development for The Cordish Cos.
