(DHI Media/ Nancy Spencer) DELPHOS Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce Co-Executive Director Lindsey Lane says the chamber will continue to serve its members and the community in any way it can in 2021. Lane stressed that members need to think of the Chamber as their marketing tool. “Members need to use us to promote what they are doing,” Lane said. “It’s what we’re here for.”

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on bars and restaurants nationwide, it apparently hasn’t dampened local entrepreneurs’ drive to open new restaurants or the Des Moines community’s desire to patronize them. “If this pandemic has shown us anything, it’s how much people love great food,” said Joe Tripp, owner and chef at Harbinger and soon-to-be restaurant Basic Bird Korean Fried Chicken, which currently operates out of the Harbinger space. “I think customers still have a desire to go out, and if anything it’s stronger than ever.”
