VOV.VN - The British Council proudly presents In Progress, a series of art and cultural events taking place from March to May this year in many locations across Vietnam such as: Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Hue, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City.

After a surge in new community COVID-19 cases which were reported last week, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) ordered industrial units to reenact measures to stabilise market activities.

In a press conference, Ta Thanh Binh, Director of Securities Market Development Department under the SSC, said that the commission directed stock exchanges, Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) and market participants to carry out solutions implemented last March and April to stabilise the market and respond to the pandemic.

NDO/VNA – The first phase of the Gemalink international port was put into operation with the welcoming of first commercial vessel on January 19.
The 165.375-DWT CMA CGM CORTE REAL vessel is one of the largest container vessels in the world. It will unload over 8,200 TEU worth of goods in the port.
Earlier on December 30, 2020 and January 7, 2021, the port received two pilot ships from CMA-CGM.

With over 185,000 drunk drivers subjected to heavier punishments in 2020, traffic cops are noticing improved driving attitudes on Vietnamese roads.
Increasing numbers of drivers across the country are taking the decision of not driving after drinking, a practice that was common place for decades.
It was drizzling and a cold wind was blowing through the northern province of Hung Yen, but traffic police officers at the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway toll booth were still stopping vehicles and check alcohol levels in drivers.

Blow pipes made of wood pulp or bamboo powder are in use by Vietnamese traffic police in a pilot program in a supplied photo.
Vietnamese police are piloting the use of disposable blow pipes made of wood pulp and bamboo powder to measure drivers’ alcohol breath.
This piece of information was provided on December 23 by Colonel Do Thanh Binh, deputy director of the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security.
The eco-friendly blow pipe is a hollow pipe about ten centimeters in length whose shape is similar to a standard plastic one.
“This product is easy to decompose and environmentally friendly, said Colonel Binh.
