Travel firms contribute to offsetting climate change with tree-planting tours in Hoi An

Photo: Linh Trang / Tuoi Tre A number of tour operators have organized trips which facilitate individuals planting trees upon traveling in Hoi An City, located in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam, to fight climate change. In mid-December, a group of 100 tourists went on a tour in Hoi An which included cycling in the countryside, a marathon, and a visit to Bay Mau coconut forest in Cam Thanh Commune. When in Cam Thanh, each tourist planted a small tree, which had been donated by local travel firms and people.

VIETNAM NEWS JANUARY 25  25/01/2021    09:45 GMT+7 All congress delegates, serving personnel negative for COVID-19 More than 10,000 samples for the second COVID-19 testing of delegates to and personnel serving the 13th National Party Congress turned out negative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 as of 8pm on January 24. According to regulations, all delegates to and personnel serving the event must undergo two tests: the first conducted within seven days prior to the congress and the second within one or two days. Both tests of the more than 10,000 people showed negative results. The COVID-19 testing aims to ensure a safe environment for the 13th National Party Congress, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2.
