Tampines and Tanjong Katong rank high on the list of desirable residential areas; so we’re not surprised these two recent Government Land Sales (GLS) sites are drawing investors.
This is on the back of two other GLS sites the week prior, which also saw aggressive bids. For those considering a property purchase in the next few years, all four sites are worth keeping an eye out for:
First, a cautionary note about land-starved property developers
In speaking to analysts, we were cautioned that the strong response to these sites are as much about depleted land banks as they are location. That’s not to say the GLS sites are bad, mind you; it’s just worth noting that other factors are driving the bids.

Attendees of the annual event presented by the University of Illinois Extension and McHenry County College (MCC) will experience some of the most unique, creative gardens across Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and Crystal Lake. From gardens overlooking a sparkling lake to those with magnificent trees, all nine gardens on the tour are a must-see.
The Demonstration Garden at MCC, the Garden Walk s starting point, includes a vine garden, cool shadowy corners full of shade-loving plants, various theme gardens and extensive displays of perennials and annuals. SOUTHFIELD After being forced to take a year off because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Southfield Parks and Garden Club will host its 14th annual Garden Walk 2-5 p.m. June 20.
Each year, a different neighborhood is selected, and residents of that neighborhood get to show off the landscaping work they’ve done around their homes. The Cranbrook Village subdivision, located between 12 Mile and 13 Mile roads, west of Southfield Road, was tapped to be this year’s featured area.
