PHA to plant 6,000 saplings in Faisalabad

PHA inspired by method of Japanese Botanist Akira Miyawaki APP March 11, 2021 FAISALABAD: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Faisalabad will plant 6,000 saplings in Jinnah Garden under Akira Miyawaki technique, said Director General PHA Asima Ejaz Cheema. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, she said Akira Miyawaki was a Japanese botanist who concluded in his research that before planting trees or shrubs in any place, the place should be researched to assess climate, ecological conditions and what kind of plants were suitable. He also researched on better growth of natural vegetables and discovered varieties which could get better growth in the shortest period of time. She said the PHA was also inspired by the method of Japanese Botanist Akira Miyawaki.

Bird show at Jilani Park attracts large number of visitors National March 8, 2021 LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) organised a colorful bird show in Jilani Park on the occasion of Jashan-e-Baharan Festival here on Sunday. A large number of citizens thronged the Jilani Park to witness the bird show. Pet pigeons, gold patriots, Brahma chickens, noble chickens, rabbits, various kinds of colorful parrots, Pakistani falcons and other birds remained the centre of attention of the visitors. The citizens saw the beautiful birds and also made selfies with the birds and took their pictures. On this occasion, PHA Chairman Engineer Yasir Gilani, Vice-Chairman Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed, DG Jawad Ahmad Qureshi also visited the bird show.

The event was organized, as a part of the ongoing Spring Festival. Due to excessive air pollution, several avians that once graced the skies of Lahore and its outskirts have disappeared and at the current rate of the reestablishment of the canopy, indigenous birds could only be marveled at by the citizens in the bird show.

Laser light show at spring festival Lahore LAHORE: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Saturday organised a laser light show at Jashan-e-Baharan Mela. Parks and Horticulture Authority Chairman Engineer Yasir Gilani, Vice-Chairman Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed and DG Jawad Ahmed participated in the laser light show. A large number of citizens also participated in the show. In the show, monuments based on Pakistani culture with musical laser light were made by the citizens. The laser light show continued from 8pm to 9 pm. In the show, laser light show was seen twice in one hour for 15 minutes. Speaking on the occasion, the Parks and Horticulture Authority officials said Parks and Horticulture Authority has always provided entertainment opportunities to people of Lahore.
