Phoenix School Worker Probed For Allegedly Using Racial Slur During Appeal to Students

A middle school employee was allegedly caught using a racial slur in an incident reportedly filmed inside a school bus in Phoenix.
The staff member, said to be from the Paradise Valley Unified School District, can be heard seemingly discouraging students of Vista Verde Middle School from using racist language in footage taken on Thursday, April 1. I don t want to hear the [n-word] word anymore, the school official says in a video obtained by CBS5AZ, as students can be heard erupting in audible shock.

LIMA Area educators on every level had to swiftly change plans when COVID-19 hit the region last March.
For Lima schools, the changes were profound.
“We had to do a lot of physical things to our buildings and in our buildings in terms of shields, being pretty meticulous with spacing as well, hand sanitizers, supplies and things like that,” said Jill Ackerman, superintendent of Lima schools.
Lima schools set early release times
Students will return to school on Monday, Jan. 4.
Below are release times for individual schools:
1 p.m.: North Middle School, West Middle School and Lima Senior Alternative School
1:30 p.m.: Lima Senior High School and South Science and Technology Magnet School
1:45 p.m.: Liberty Arts Magnet School, Freedom Elementary School and Independence Elementary School
2 p.m.: Heritage Elementary School and Unity Elementary School
