WASHINGTON, March 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Postmaster General and CEO Louis DeJoy today provided details of the next phase of organizational changes he first announced in August 2020, designed to improve efficiency, drive success and better serve Postal Service customers.
The next phase of these organizational changes includes the following:
District Consolidation Plan: The existing 67 Postal Service Districts will be consolidated to 50 Districts. New District territories will closely align to state boundaries. Districts will align with the communities the Postal Service serves and provide familiar boundaries for employees, customers and stakeholders.
Centralization of Marketing functions: The Marketing functions previously performed at the Area and District levels will be centralized into the Chief Customer and Marketing organization, including Consumer and Industry Affairs and the Bulk Mail Entry Units (BMEUs). In May, the District Retail

URBANA, Ill. –The COVID-19 pandemic accentuated what was already known about digital connectivity: millions of American don’t have access to high-speed internet; many of those are in rural communities.
Children attending daily virtual learning, coupled with adults working from home and businesses transitioning to virtual buying experiences, shined a brighter spotlight on the gaps in reliable internet accessibility.
University of Illinois Extension is filling the gap by offering free Wi-fi access from the parking lots of some of its 115 Illinois offices. The effort is part of the American Connection Project. An interactive map lists free Wi-fi access locations provided by Extension and other cooperating partners of the project.
Dr. Maria Gallo will moderate a session on committing to equity in agriculture
Dr. Maria Gallo will serve as the moderator for, âEquity at the Table: Committing to Diversity in Food and Agriculture Policymaking,â on Feb. 23.
Delaware Valley University President Dr. Maria Gallo will help facilitate a discussion on diversity and equity at the 2021 National Association of State Departments of Agriculture Winter Conference. Dr. Gallo will be the moderator for, âEquity at the Table: Committing to diversity in food and agriculture policymaking,â which will examine ways of dismantling systemic racism in the nationâs food and agriculture systems.
The 2021 NASDA Winter Policy Conference, âTogether at the Table,â runs from Feb. 22 through Feb. 25 and will be held virtually. The âEquity at the Tableâ session will be held on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.
