The outlook is quickly deteriorating for Chinese New Year domestic travel, according to new figures released by travel data analyst ForwardKeys.
As of Jan. 28, the firm revealed that tickets booked for the period Jan. 28 to Feb. 24 were down -75.9 percent against those booked for the comparable period of 2019, despite a more encouraging figure of -57.3 percent having been recorded during December for advance bookings.
ForwardKeys observed that there had been hopes for high levels of travel during this typically busy period, especially after a strong travel recovery in the domestic market by the end of third-quarter 2020. But localized COVID-19 outbreaks have resulted in new restrictions on travel, with travel bookings dropping sharply as a result.

Mumbai: The acceleration of digitization post-pandemic and the rapid pace of technology adoption in businesses across industry sectors is leading to the demand for CXOs who can think “tech first”, said search industry experts.
“Every CXO that we are talking to if the person is not tech savvy he/she will not be relevant in the current times,” said K Sudarshan, managing director at EMA Partners India. Almost every other consumer company has an app today, giving access to customers through technology. “You can’t be a CXO or a CEO without having the comfort to use technology,” he said. “As a CXO if you are in a customer facing role your ability to think tech first becomes extremely important,” he added.
