188th Wing, Fort Chaffee missions supported by omnibus bill

Times Record Staff The 188th Wing and Fort Chaffee are set to receive a boost in funding to support missions in Fort Smith. U.S. Sen. John Boozman, chairman of the Senate Appropriations Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (MilCon-VA) subcommittee, announced Tuesday that provisions in an omnibus bill will stand to deliver benefits to Fort Smith s military bases. Fort Chaffee will receive $15 million for the construction of the Arkansas National Guard Readiness Training Center, which will provide greater support for training exercises by Arkansas guardsmen. The Razorback Range at Fort Chaffee will receive $8 million in funding under the Air Force Training section. The Razorback Range, an aircraft bombing and targeting range at Fort Chaffee, was transferred to the Arkansas Army National Guard from the 188th Wing in 2017.

Dec. 31 deadline for $4K EV tax credit RBC | Local nonprofit Clean Energy Economy for the Region is reminding Coloradans Dec. 31 is the last date to qualify for a $4,000 state tax credit. The “Innovative Motor Vehicle” income tax credit on the purchase of a new plug-in hybrid or all-electric vehicle will drop to $2,500 in 2021. The credit for leasing an EV will also decrease to $1,500 from the current $2,000. The state tax credit applies to all models, and everyone gets the full $4,000 regardless of their tax situation.
