TULSA The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame has filed for bankruptcy.
The news broke in the middle of an eviction hearing before a special judge in the Tulsa County District Court Small Claims Division.
Jason McIntosh, executive director of the Jazz Hall of Fame, confirmed the bankruptcy filing but declined to comment further at the advice of counsel.
The Tulsa County Industrial Authority filed a lawsuit in November seeking to terminate its lease with the Jazz Hall and recover $8,474 in past-due taxes and utilities.
The lawsuit also alleges that the Jazz Hall fell so far behind in its utility payments that electricity to the building was turned off on Oct. 19.

Doggie Depot, the annual dog-centered event at Union Depot in St. Paul, has gone virtual this year to ensure the health and safety of everyone during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The traditional Canine King and Queen contest is still set to commence, electing two dogs to earn their spot in the St. Paul Winter Carnival Royal Family. Dog owners will be able to submit photos of their dogs from Dec. 28 until Jan. 10 on the
Union Depot Facebook page. Submissions will be narrowed down to 15 queen and king finalists each, selected at random.
Voting for the 30 finalists will be open Jan. 14-19 on the Union Depot Facebook page and winners will be announced on Jan. 21. Fans will be able to view the crowning on Feb. 6

Even as crews are only starting to dig their way under the Crosstown Highway to build a tunnel for Southwest Light Rail trains, transit planners already have more than five other major transit lines in the pipeline that are expected to cost about $700 million.
They’re bus rapid transit lines, like the A Line buses that run from Minneapolis to Rosedale and the C Line that connects the Brooklyn Center Transit Center with downtown Minneapolis.
Metro Transit is already quite a way further down the alphabet on lines F, G and H, says Katie Roth, assistant director of bus rapid transit for the agency. Planners are going to recommend which routes will get the new, faster service in March. There are already proposals for 10 lines.
