While we re all wearing face masks because of the coronavirus pandemic, one thing that can be pretty annoying is that our FaceID doesn t recognize us to unlock our iPhones. Well, pretty soon this will be a problem of the past because Apple is testing out a new iOS software that will have your iPhone Face ID recognize you while wearing a face mask. Currently, Face ID can t identify someone wearing a mask and will trigger the passcode entry. The latest update will require you to have an Apple Watch in order for you to unlock your iPhone while wearing a mask. In order for this work, when your phone detects you re wearing a face mask and your unlocked Apple watch is nearby or on your wrist, your iPhone will automatically unlock and the Apple Watch will vibrate. You will have to opt into this feature and for security purposes, the update will only work to unlock the phone. You ll still have to type in your passcode to make transactions through Apple Pa

Soon you will be able to unlock your iPhone with Face ID even when with a Covid-19 mask on, but only if you are wearing an Apple Watch.
In the next iOS 14 update, Apple Watch will give you haptic feedback to let you know your iPhone has been unlocked, reports Pocket-lint.
The new iPhone iOS version 14.5, now available as developer Beta, has the functionality to unlock your iPhone via Apple Watch as you travel around wearing a mask.
