Growth capital investor BGF has announced it has taken a 25 per cent stake in MVNO Jola Cloud Solutions Ltd for £10.25m.
The MVNO is a global eSIM specialist and aims to provide IoT and mobile data solutions to managed service providers, internet providers, IT support companies, and telecom resellers.
BGF’s investment will support the continued growth of the channel partner base and the introduction of new products and capabilities to existing and new channel partners.
Jola co-founder and CEO Andrew Dickinson said: “BGF has a fantastic track record of investment overall and it was their references and reputation in the ICT space that made them a clear choice for Jola.

Highlights
The portfolio has seen an uplift in valuation of £4.8 million during the year.
Net Asset Value per share decreased by 3.7% from 76.5p at 31 December 2019 to 73.7p. Including the payment of a 3.3p dividend made on 19 June 2020, NAV total return per share at 31 December 2020 was 77.0p, representing a positive total return of 0.7%.

Suffolk firm PBD Biotech has secured £2.3m of funding to gain international validation for its new diagnostic test for bovine tuberculosis in cattle

An East Anglian firm s game-changing test for a devastating cattle disease has won £2.3m of funding to help it secure international validation.
PBD Biotech, based at Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds, has developed a rapid, accurate test for bovine tuberculosis (bTB) that it claims could enable farmers to effectively remove the disease from their herds.
The new investment will enable the company to take its patented Actiphage test through to validation by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
