Mumbai Police on Thursday arrested Partho Dasgupta, the former CEO of TV ratings agency BARC, in connection with the TRP scam case. Mr Dasgupta - the fifteenth person to be arrested in the case so far - was taken into custody from Raigad and will be produced in court today.

Ramgadia s legal team had moved a bail application. The crime branch replied to the bail application stating that Ramgadia worked with the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) between 2014 and 2020 as Chief Operating Officer and during this time the Mumbai Crime Branch had alleged that he helped ARG Outlier’s two channels with TRP manipulation.
The crime branch of Mumbai Police on Thursday arrested a former CEO of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) from Pune district in the fake TRP scam, an official said. Partho Dasgupta, the accused, is the fifteenth person to be arrested in the case related to alleged rigging of Television Rating Points (TRP) by some TV channels. He was arrested by Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) from the jurisdiction of Rajgad Police Station in Pune district and will be produced before a court here on Friday, the official said. Earlier, the CIU had arrested former chief operating officer (COO) of BARC Ramil Ramgarhia in the case, among others.

MUMBAI: The Mumbai crime branch probing the TRP scam on Thursday arrested Partho Dasgupta, former CEO of BARC, from Rajgad police station’s jurisdiction in Pune rural.
Police said Dasgupta was the 15th accused to be arrested in the case. He will be brought to the crime branch and produced before the 37th metropolitan magistrate court in Mumbai on Friday.
Dasgupta’s name figured during investigations and interrogation of other accused in the case.
Police said that most of those arrested in the case were employees of Hansa Research Group Pvt Ltd who had misused confidential data which had been entrusted to them.
