A total of 537 clerks, interns, students, and faculty members of the ASMPH have been fully vaccinated against the viral disease.
“Medical students are our next frontliners. This is why it’s important to ensure that they are protected from COVID-19. To be the best physicians they can be, they need to be equipped with the necessary lessons and competencies, and because of the nature of medicine as discipline, we can only do this through face-to-face classes,” ASMPH Dean Dr. Cenon Alfonso said in a statement.
“Since ASMPH has received approval from the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) and CHED (Commission on Higher Education) to resume limited face-to-face classes, being vaccinated will protect them, their immediate families, and the school’s community members, and the larger community as well,” he added.
