Glasgow homelessness charity set to reopen shops after a 14-week closure

Glasgow homelessness charity set to reopen shops after a 14-week closure A CITY homelessness charity is set to reopen its charity shops after being closed for 14 weeks due to the coronavirus lockdown.  Emmaus Glasgow is preparing for a phased reopening, with its Partick and Hamiltonhill shops the first to welcome customers back tomorrow.  The funds generated from selling donated items help the charity to provide a home, meaningful work, daily support and training for people who have experienced homelessness or social exclusion. For every week shut, the charity is faced with a 35 per cent income shortfall.  During the shutdown period, the team sold items online, refurbished its Partick shop and prepared each unit for reopening to ensure the safety of its customers.
