The Meeting of the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission on 28th May 2021. The meeting was attended by officials of provincial governments, SBP, and federal ministries.
Deputy Chairman elaborated that APCC is the millstone of the development budget approval process. Although formal and informal consultations on development where the federal government, provinces, and regions collectively review development proposal, for the coming year as well as the performance of the out-going year.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin Tuesday held separate meetings with provincial finance ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab to seek valuable inputs for formulation of a people-friendly and growth oriented budget for the upcoming fiscal year (2021-22), Dunya News reported. The finance minister held meetings with the provincial finance ministers as a part of an overall consultative process with key stakeholders including provinces to seek valuable inputs for formulation of a people friendly growth-oriented Budget, said a press statement issued by the finance ministry.
Finance Minister Directs Provinces to Rationalize Expenditure
Finance Minister for Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) Mr. Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra called on the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Shaukat Tarin, at the Finance Division.
SAPM on Finance and Revenue Dr. Waqar Masood and Secretary Finance Division Kamran Ali Afzal were also present during the meeting.
The Provincial Finance Minister from KP briefed the Finance Minister about efforts undertaken by the Provincial government to curtail expenditure and rationalize spending with a key focus on providing maximum relief to the masses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also outlined measures taken to enhance provincial tax collection by expanding the tax base and reducing the number of taxes.

ISLAMABAD: With plan to present Budget 2021-22 in parliament on June 11, the federal government on Tuesday asked the provinces to adopt strict fiscal discipline, rationalise expenditure and divert savings towards socioeconomic development.
As part of budget-making exercise, the centre also asked the provinces to rationalise their workforce in view of rising salary and pension bills, improving revenues and harmonise tax structure. The meetings were part of an overall consultative process with key stakeholders including provinces to seek inputs for formulation of a “people friendly growth-oriented budget”, the Ministry of Finance said.
