DART announces changes to some routes beginning June 6
BY BUSINESS RECORD STAFF Monday, May 10, 2021 3:12 PM The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority today announced changes to some of its routes and schedules starting June 6. Local Route 6 will run every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during the evening. Weekday evening service on Local Route 7 will increase to run every 30 minutes. Both routes will see improvements to schedules to coordinate service to Southridge Mall, the announcement stated. DART will also be adding additional trip times to Local Route to the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Bondurant. There will be minor adjustments in service made to Local Routes 1, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 60, and Express Routes 92, 93 and 98. DART will also be removing school service from select routes. Paper schedules of the changes will be available at the DART Central Station and on buses after June 2.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority will no longer be blocking seats on its buses, but is encouraging riders to continue to practice social distancing. DART announced in a news release today that beginning this week it would be removing chains and signs blocking seats on its buses and inside its Central Station lobby, to allow for more flexibility in social distancing. According to the release, DART is updating some of its protocols that were put in place in response to the coronavirus pandemic as more people are getting vaccinated. Riders should continue to stay at least 6 feet apart, and bus drivers will monitor the number of riders to avoid overcrowding. DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (Apr. 26, 2021) â The Downtown Farmers Market â presented by UnityPoint Health â Des Moines will begin its season with the opening bell in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) on Saturday, May 1 at 7 a.m. Several frontline workers and vendors will be present to help usher in the start of the modified 2021 Market season.
