A fisherman and a cyclist riding on a bike trail both spotted Kafi s body in the water at around 4:40 p.m. that afternoon, police say. Kafi allegedly jumped into the river at Prospect Park on March 17, Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said. Police were at the park, just upriver from Riverview Park, that evening on an unrelated matter when Kafi allegedly began yelling at officers, hopped in a vehicle, and drove through the park erratically.
