Tarrant County unprepared for large delivery of vaccine doses, judge says
Tarrant County leaders this week said the county is not prepared if a large influx of vaccine doses are delivered.
FORT WORTH, Texas - Tarrant County leaders this week said the county is not prepared if a large influx of vaccine doses are delivered.
County leadership had banked on a planned deal with UNT’s Health Science Center. The deal wasn t what the county judge had hoped for.
A half-million people have registered with the county. About 160,000 of them have been vaccinated.

Feb. 4 SELMA As COVID-19 vaccination clinics go, the one in a church parking lot down a side street in Selma on Wednesday was a modest affair. Over six hours, 50 people with appointments received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine as they sat in their cars.
But it was the location and the way people learned about the event that set it apart.
This was UNC Health s first mobile vaccination clinic, held at an African-American church in a Johnston County town where Blacks and Hispanics account for the majority of the population. In North Carolina, those two groups lag in COVID-19 vaccinations, receiving about 14% of the first doses so far even though they make up about 31% of the state s population and account for as many as 40% of coronavirus cases in the state.

BOWDON, Ga. Three people - including a 16-year-old girl - face arson charges after being connected to a fire that burned down a Carroll County church that stood for more than 100 years.
According to the sheriff s office, Frederick “Devin” Smith, 33, Monica Marie Burnett, 18, and the 16-year-old have all been charged with second degree arson for the fire at Smith Chapel Church earlier this month.
It was back on Jan. 4 when fire crews with Carroll County Fire Rescue responded to the fire in Bowdon. When they got there, they found the church, built in 1850, engulfed in flames. It was later deemed a total loss.
