She received two doses of epinephrine at the emergency department at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and was discharged about six hours later.
“Allergic reactions, though uncommon, can occur with injections of medications and vaccines,” Chief Medical Officer Dr. Angelique Ramirez said in a statement. “This is why our staff is trained and prepared to respond to any symptoms of anaphylaxis. Our employee is doing well and was able to go home yesterday.”

HOUSTON â Texas on Saturday surpassed 25,000 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, the second-highest total in the country.
State health officials reported 272 new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing Texasâ death toll to 25,226.

The community hospital in Fairbanks got it’s package about 10:30 yesterday morning. Dr. Angelique Ramirez, Chief Medical Officer for Foundation Health Partners, says the 975 doses will be used to vaccinate hospital staff at greatest risk for exposure to COVID-19 and those who are caring for patients with the disease.
“This is the beginning of the end. And I will tell you I’m so excited, this is one of the first times I’m actually able to offer something to people that will actually protect them and make things better.”
