Kisumu County plans to set up a sanitary pads manufacturing plant to boost the region’s cotton industry.
Speaking on the final day of the Kusi Ideas Festival, 2020, which tackled the need to boost local manufacturing and finding local solutions to local problems, Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong o said his county wants to take the cotton value addition challenge very seriously. We have realised that sanitary pads used in Kenya are imported from manufacturers who send the best quality to New York and bring us what has been made from waste, Prof Nyong o said as he wrapped up the two-day festival.
