Japan Airlines (JAL) amps up its sustainability efforts yet again this time by offering the “Ethical Choice Meal Skip” option. It’s exactly what it sounds like: the more environmentally sound choice of skipping your in-flight meal to help JAL lessen food waste.
To be clear, JAL isn’t discouraging passengers from munching on their
bento-inspired dishes while up in the air. We know most of you will feel like it’s just too good a treat to pass up. This is simply a reminder to only order food that you can finish down to the last morsel in a step towards flying more sustainably.
Star Africa Clears 98 Percent of Its Debts

LISTED sugar processor, Star Africa Corporation Limited (SACL) has managed to clear 98% its debts and is now targeting to address foreign creditors within the first quarter of next year.
In 2013, SACL survived liquidation by a whisker after the courts approved a scheme of arrangement with a reprieve allowing the company not to pay any creditor inside a period of six months to allow time accumulate growth.
The corporation was saddled with a debt totaling US$19.7 million which once prompted creditors to demand the firm’s liquidation following an unsuccessful scheme of arrangement more than a decade ago.

Getting good sleep often triumphs getting a good meal on a flight, leading to food waste. So, Japan Airlines (JAL) is taking the reins by offering an “Ethical Choice Meal Skip” option to help the company with the “reduction of food waste,” the airline’s site states.
The carrier normally prepares meals for every passenger on board, so knowing ahead of time that someone won’t be partaking in in-flight dining will help the airline with its sustainability efforts, especially on red-eye flights where more people tend to doze instead of dine.
