Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday slammed the Facebook Oversight Board s decision to uphold his ban from Facebook and Instagram as a total disgrace, saying Big Tech companies must pay a political price.
The board on Wednesday upheld Trump s ban from Facebook and Instagram but said it was not appropriate for Facebook to impose the indeterminate and standardless penalty of indefinite suspension.
The board gave Facebook six months to review the arbitrary indefinite ban, saying in a tweet that the company violated its own rules.

Facebookâs Oversight Board on Wednesday upheld the social networkâs decision to ban former president Donald Trump for encouraging violence following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, a significant decision that could help cement the power of the social media giant over free expression.
But the 20-member Oversight Board, which is largely independent and funded by the social network, also left open the door for Trumpâs return. The expert panel took issue with Facebookâs âindefiniteâ suspension of Trump, calling it âvague and uncertain.â It sent the decision back to Facebook and said it had six months to clarify Trumpâs punishment and come up with a response that fits its known

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday ripped Facebook and other tech platforms that have banned him, following Facebook’s decision to keep its indefinite ban in place while it reviews his case.
“What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country,” said Mr. Trump in a statement. “Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before. The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.”
