County Kildare has received €23,000 for three projects under special grant schemes run by The Heritage Council.
Under the Community Heritage Grant Scheme, €18,500 has been allocated to community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Kildare. Follies Trust received €8,500 for the conservation of iron doors on two pyramid mausolea at Maudlins burial ground, Naas. Tea Lane Graveyard Committee was awarded €10,000 to carry out conservation works to the Grattan Family Vault Celbridge.
Meanwhile, under the Heritage Council’s Irish Walled Towns Network (IWTN), €5,000 is earmarked for interpretation initiatives, which will protect and preserve the history and heritage of Ireland’s walled towns. Kildare Town Heritage CLG has been allocated €3,500 for its project Interpretation for the three abbeys of Kildare.’ The aim of this project is to raise public awareness of the three great abbeys of Kildare. PHILIPSBURG: - The Ad Hoc Committee of Electoral Reform of Parliament will meet on May 12, 2021.
The Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 9.30 hrs. in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelminastraat #1 in Philipsburg.
The agenda points are:

2. Discussion on electoral reform in light of the draft budget amendment 2020 (IS/565/2020-2021 dated April 8, 2021)

Nationlist MP Karol Aquilina was charged with dangerous driving on Tuesday in an incident that took place two years ago.
The incident took place in June 2019 on Triq Diċembru 13 in Marsa, when Aquilina allegedly refused to obey police instructions while driving.
Footage of the incident, aired on television by the Labour presenter Karol Stagno Navarra on his programme Pjazza , shows Aquilina in his car, apparently blocking the route of the ministerial vehicle despite the orders from two police officers on motorbike, accompanying the vehicle.
