MI5 shared a behind-the-scenes look at its headquarters in London.
The United Kingdom’s domestic counter-intelligence and security agency, MI5, has joined Instagram to increase transparency. In his first Instagram post on Thursday, which MI5 shared behind the curtain picture of his headquarters. It also uncovered the secret of successful espionage – which is to consider all angles for a better approach.
MI5 wrote in its first Instagram post, “The secret to successful espionage. Consider all angles. It will give you a better view …” MI5 wrote.
“This is the scene our employees see as they enter the MI5 headquarters in Thames House, London. There are some of Britain’s best kept secrets behind these pods,” the intelligence agency said.

Telegraph reports that MI5 has entered ‘a new era of openness’, with MI5’s Director-General Ken McCallum writing in the paper that it was time to cast off ‘martini-drinking stereotypes’ and ‘ become a more open and connected organisation’. He states that Instagram offers the means of ‘finding new ways to tap into the diversity and creativity of UK life’ by ‘reaching out directly’ to people. The move comes months after MI5 s new director general Ken McCallum said he wanted the traditionally highly secretive agency to open up and reach out in new ways .
