Hospitality venues are now allowed to reopen in line with detailed reopening guidance and safety protocols, which includes bars and public houses selling food and alcohol on a table service basis indoors and outdoors. Hotels are also permitted to reopen along with their restaurants and bars.

The 11th edition of the Times of Malta Treasure Hunt was held last weekend, May 15-16, attracting eager participants to what has become a staple in the TimesEvents calendar. Such events have taken on an added significance during the pandemic as they are seen as a welcome release, held with all safety protocols in place – in fact, the Hunt #11 was sold out 48 hours prior to the start. To ensure that all health protocols were adhered to, the organisers changed the format from the usual Saturday afternoon hunt and after-party. The new format saw clue sheets being e-mailed to participants late on Friday evening, with participants mailing back their answer sheets by 7pm on the following Sunday.
